Any experience with Geico?

Question:

Does anyone out there have any good experience with GEICO? — Al Brenden

If you consider continually paying ever-increasing premiums and never making a claim as good, then yes, I have had a good experience w/ Geico. They are the cheapest I can find….and let’s hope I never have to make a claim

Hi, folks,    Does anyone here have insurance with Geico? How would you grade their service?   Thanks

I don’t like them.  When I called for a quote they asked, at the end of a LONG series of questions, if I had a radar detector.  When I said yes they said they would not cover me.  That pissed me off because it’s a damn stupid basis to rate people and because if it’s a make or break question for them why the hell don’t they ask it first and not waste my time.  I also asked if they would go ahead and figure the quote just so I could see how competitive they were even if they would not cover me. No way would they give me a quote.  What  a bunch of jerks.  I sure wouldn’t want to have to deal with them if I had an accident.

I was happy with GEICO.   Other posters have mentioned that GEICO drops you after a couple of claims….I don’t know, but I wouldn’t knock them for it.  I guess I expected lower service since I am paying lower premium.  The way I see it, I usually make a claim say once every 3/4 years – the amount of money I save in 3 years with GEICO is worth the extra hassle (if any) of not having a local agent.  Further, if I make several sucessive claims and they drop me…oh well, on to the next discount insurance carrier (it hasn’t happened yet).  I didn’t feel the same way when I was with All State (paying a high premium), and they still dropped me after 2 consecutive claims (1 was my fault). I had a broken winshield (drive by BB gun shooter), and the replacement work went smoothly, I paid my deductable directly to the authorized repair shop. — –  Ed Chen                                           (415) 933-3768  -

You do know that when in an accident GEICO values the repair costs on after-market parts, righrt?
